Henry Redmore (1820-1887)

Henry Redmore is undoubtably one of Britain's finest marine painters. Many of Redmore's artworks are of shipping off the Yorkshire coast and in the ports of Scarborough and Whitby. Much of his output is of Dutch shipping, suggesting he spent some time on the continent, some suggest Holland and Germany. Wherever, what is for sure he was a highly accomplished painter of marine subjects.

This relined oil on canvas is a very fine example of Redmore's work, signed and dated 1857 it is in super condition and like all the paintings on this website is ready to hang.
